Kia ora koutou, many of you will have recieved or will be receiving the 2023 Census papers in the mail. Question 28 of the individual form asks how many babies you have given birth to. We have double checked this with Census NZ and they have confirmed this question refers to children given birth to, no matter length of life, or at what stage of pregnancy birth occurred.

This changed in 2018 after feedback about the 2013 Census. It’s so heartening to have all our babies count 💜🧡
