Today is a VERY special day as it's 22 years since the very first abandoned children arrived to live at Casa Kiwi home way back in 2004.
It was a huge day for the Romanian team and for us in NZ it was like waiting for a phone call and news that an expectant child had been born. In this case many children given new hope and a new life.
This photo was taken just a couple of weeks back to celebrate the end of the school term in Romania. The faces are some of the children that attend the day programme that runs with the school year.
So many changes within Transylvania, Romania and the world in that time. But it is so wonderful that the foundation has been caring for children, loving, facilitating fostering and adoption programmes and caring for those in extreme need in communities around the area, all during that time.
Thank you to the staff, teachers, carers, cooks, social workers and volunteers at Casa Kiwi and to everyone that has been part of the journey over that time. Many people have given generously and sacrificed much time and effort. We are very thankful.
We are greatful for each of you and grateful for every child we have met and that has passed through those huge doors.
Here's to many more young lives given a second chance at life and the love and security they need to grow strong.
