✨ A little trip down memory lane… ✨

Who remembers Asterix & Obelix? 🙋‍♀️

I certainly do, though I am of a certain age🤣. As a kid, I loved reading the crazy adventures of these two 'indomitable Gauls', fighting against the Romans 😂.

So when I saw the pattern, I just had to crochet them. For me, it was trip down memory lane and all those happy memories of sitting with a comic and getting completely absorbed in their world. ❤️

There’s something rather special about the way little children see their dads. ❤️

To them, Dad can fix anything, reach anything, chase away monsters and somehow make everything better.

So when I made this little Superman, I couldn't help thinking…
Every Dad is a superhero in someone's eyes. 🦸❤️

Handmade from start to finish, this little guy would make such a lovely gift for a special dad — or for a little one who already has their very own superhero.

And of course, I can make custom characters too. 🧶

I think this might be my favourite part of making my dolls.

The crocheting is one thing… but creating the face, choosing the hair, outfit and little details is when their personality really starts to appear. 🥰

And that's why I love making them.

They're not just a doll — they're a little character waiting to become someone's special friend.

And yes… they can also be custom made. ❤️

🐾 And the mystery is finally solved! 🐾

A few days ago I shared a little sneak peek and asked if anyone could guess what I was making.
Thank you to everyone who joined in with your guesses — I loved reading them! 😂

And Karena was the closest… so a special mention to you! 👏😉

Well, here it is… from a few balls of yarn and a whole lot of crocheting to the finished result — a custom-made Chihuahua! 🐶❤️

This little fellow was made to order, which is one of my favourite parts of creating. Taking someone's idea or photo and turning it into something handmade and special is such a rewarding process.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the transformation from start to finish. 🧶➡️🐾

Dad, the Real Superhero 🦸‍♂️
Every little boy needs a superhero… but really, who is the biggest superhero of all?
Dad. ❤️
The one who fixes things, carries the heavy stuff, makes us laugh, gives the best hugs and somehow always seems to know what to do when things go wrong.
So when I crocheted this little Superman, I couldn't help thinking he’d make a rather special Father's Day gift — a little reminder that, in the eyes of his family, Dad will always be their very own superhero. 🦸‍♂️❤️
Handmade with lots of love, just like all the little things that make Dad so special.

I've realised I spend an awful lot of time talking about the things I make, but probably not enough about the person actually sitting behind the crochet hook! 😂
So, if you're new here, hi! 👋 I'm the face (and hands 🧶) behind Kwirky Kreations NZ.
I make all sorts of quirky handmade crochet toys, dolls and keepsakes, and honestly, I never quite know what I'm going to be making next!
Everything is made by me, one stitch at a time, and I love creating things that are a little bit different from what you'll find in the shops. ❤️

🦓🦌 A little bit of Kwirky Christmas planning… 🎄

The zebra and reindeer pictured, were actually inspired by photos I spotted online — but unfortunately, like so much these days, I discovered they were AI generated! 😳
Undeterred, I set about creating my own crochet patterns, and I’m absolutely delighted with how they turned out! 🧶❤️ There’s something really satisfying about seeing an idea become a real, o closer, my order book fills up quickly, and handmade means I can only make so many!

And I take pride in every single item I make. I’d much rather take the time to get the little details right than rush something out — quality takes time!

All my toys are child safe and machine washable on a gentle/wool cycle, so they’re made to be loved, cuddled and enjoyed. ❤️
