After 5 years with Maiden Stone our wonderful and very talented staff member Belinda is moving on. Belinda during that time gained her certificate in Monumental Masonry and proved herself to be a capable leader of the business when Ian was away. We wish her well in her new position at Fonterra. So the opportunity is out there for the right person to learn the ropes. I am seeking a person who can meet with families and has basic graphic and administration skills. The successful candidate after a qualifying period will be given the opportunity to gain a qualification in Monumental Masonry. More families are coming in with design ideas for their headstones. This one was based on a mermaid statue and the family were so pleased they wanted it installed on their pre-paid plot, even though they are not there yet. As least they all get to see it.

Unveiled today at the Neck on Stewart Island, two plaques, one to commemorate the resting place of early settler Captain William Anglem, the second plaque to recognize his descendants who arrived today to honor the occasion.

It’s not always beautiful headstones we supply. Maiden Stone was asked to design and install this beautiful statue of Mother Mary at St.Joseph School. It replaced a concrete structure that stood there for 100 years until some undesirable decided to push it over causing irreparable damage.
