A big thanks to Steve More and his Smoke on the Coast crew for a great weekend. The weather turned it on after completely turning it off and the hosts at
Whangateau Holiday Park were outstanding as always.

Was a retail day on Saturday and a great chance to chat BBQ with the public and then it was all go for NZ Barbecue Alliance big four on Sunday.

1st place Four monkeys BBQ Chicken
8th Ribs
11th pork
7th brisket

Good enough for 6th overall ......It was a big mission to do solo so to be in the mix with the results made me happy.

As much as it may have been a solo mission on site it is most definitely not and I am so grateful for the support I get to be able to make it to these events.

The Kiwi Outdoor Oven est. 2012 is always a huge support and have gone above and beyond again, Thank you!

Congratulations to the Cook Cartel on another big weekend cleaning up on Saturday and Reserve Grand Champions on Sunday and a huge Congratulations to Ciaran Murphy and Melissa Murphy of MeatLoaf Barbecue on their first GC! These legends have been chipping away at this relentlessly and it was only a matter of time! Stoked for you guys, much deserved!

As always a big thanks to the team and all the Judges who make the effort to allow this to happen and to Donkey Grill for continuing to make some really cool trophies, was stoked to take one home!

Lastly I want to give a shout out to Morgan, she went through all the effort to design these epic little good luck notes and hand deliver them and we all appreciated them very much!

Well that is another competition done and dusted. It is always special to be able to compete in your own back yard and Tai Tokerau Low & Slow is that one for me. It was a solo mission for me and with being involved in all sides of the event I was really happy with my cook and the results
