We are celebrating 25 years of Rangi Nukunuku at Advance Electrical Wholesalers.

Twenty five years is more than a milestone. It is 25 years of showing up, day after day, bringing knowledge, commitment and high standards to the people around you.

Rangi started with Advance after gaining experience at Master Trade. Today, as our Purchasing Manager, he plays an important role in making sure the products we stock meet the right standards and specifications for our customers.

Rangi is known for his knowledge, attention to detail and straightforward approach. He is also known for his immaculate lawn, his bird aviary and the time he invited the team to a party that turned out to be his wedding.

Thanks Rangi, for 25 years of hard work, commitment and expertise. Congratulations on your Advance-aversary.

Our Ambrose Golf Tournament in April was a fantastic day on the course.

Thank you to the many customers who joined us, and to all the suppliers who supported the event. It was a day filled with friendly competition, plenty of fun and great prizes.

New Zealand's first ever data cabling qualification is here.

The NZ Certificate in Data Cabling (Level 3) is a 44-week programme from Skills Trades Training that covers installation, termination, testing, and documentation. The commitment is minimal, just a four-day block course in Auckland or Christchurch, plus online learning and on-the-job practice. Your team keeps working while they qualify.

A regulatory change that flew under the radar is causing serious concern across the NZ electrical industry.

The Electricity (Safety) Amendment Regulations 2025 removed the prohibition on switches or fuses being installed in PEN conductors. The New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association says this creates a genuine risk of lethal voltage reaching earthed equipment — and is urging electricians to exercise extreme caution.

WorkSafe, NZEIA, Master Electricians NZ, and Engineering NZ are in ongoing discussions about the implications.
