Scrapbook Central Specialists in Scrapbooking, Card-making and Paper-craft supplies. We are a family owned independent retail store. Scrapbook Central was opened in June of 2003.

In the beginning the focus was to introduce people to Scrapbooking and support the local Scrapbooking community. At that time there were very few Scrapbooking stores in New Zealand. Very quickly we branched into card-making classes and supplies as many of the techniques were transferable between the two craft areas. Now the term Paper Crafting is used to describe scrapbooking, card making and othe

r paper related crafts like Home Decor, Off the Page, Canvas Art, Mini Albums, Invitational Stationary etc. We have focused on carrying the widest selection of coloured cardstock and patterned papers in store (currently 1600 approx). We have run classes from the time we opened and continue to do so. In recent times we have started to make more classes available as kits with instructions for people to do at home. Most of the classes will be available as a Kit through the online store. We are located in Epuni, Lower Hutt, New Zealand, right across the road from the Epuni Railway Station and handy bus stop.

📷 A few photos to share from the last crop at the Scrapbook Central premises in Lower Hutt on Saturday. We even had a suprise visit from Prince William aka Brendon which made everyone's day!
A special mention to Sandra who flew up from Invercargill to be there, and also Robyn and Dennis who couldn't be there but were definately part of the day. It was such a happy day and a great way to finish before the next chapter of events begins Oct 2 & 3 at Wilford School Hall. Bookings are open online already if you want to join the crop or you can just come for a browse at the Popup Shop🤗 We are open regular hours until our last day.....Saturday 29 August, with some great clearance bargains for instore customers this week.

Yesterday was the last instore event at Scrapbook Central. What a lovely day of friendships, chatter, laughter, papercrafting and food to finish this chapter of Scrapbook Central. Thankyou everyone for all the love and support over the last few weeks as we transition to the next chapter. I will post a few more photos later .....
We look forward to seeing you at the first Crop/Popup Shop event at Wilford School Hall Oct 3rd as we start the next chapter. NB date change.

Normal shop hours this week as we head to our last day open next Saturday 29 August. Pop in for some instore only clearance specials on items we are going out of as we focus on the current online side of Scrapbook Central once the shop closes.

A big thankyou from all the ladies at the Jenny Heaslip classes at Scrapbook Central this weekend goes to Alison at Craft Avenue Distribution for the lovely chipboard and vellum sheets in their gift bags. Thanks to Gemma too for the yummy muffins and a huge thankyou to Jenny for a wonderful weekend packed with papercraft inspiration. The weekend finished with Jenny and I putting our best foot foward for the next chapter. We look forward to welcoming Jenny back next year and so appreciate the support of everyone that came to classes and purchased kits. What an amazing community of crafters!!

It’s the END of an Era and the BEGINNING of a NEW one….
There’s a saying in retail “if you are not evolving you are dying” so Scrapbook Central is having to evolve & adapt to survive in the current retail climate. This has not been an easy decision for us….

After 23+ years as a retail storefront we are moving our business to online retail.

Saturday 29 August will be our last day open to the public at the current location at 101 Oxford Tce. Our last event at the shop is the All Day Crop 22 August.

For our local customers we are trialling a monthly Fri / Sat crop and popup shop from September, at Wilford School, 100 William Street, Petone.
The dates for the Friday and Saturday All Day Crop/Popup Shops at the new venue are:

25 & 26 September 26

30 & 31 October 26

27 & 28 November 26

You will be able book for either or both crops, with a discount offered if you book both. For our VIS members the September 26th All Day Crop will be free of charge. After that event the VIS membership will no longer continue.

You do NOT need to book to come to the pop-up shop!

There will still be a Scrapaway this November (6- 8th) at Silverstream Retreat and we are accepting $50 deposits for this to confirm your place.

There is still a Christmas Crop on 5 December.

We will still be doing classes here and there.

You will still see us at shows around the country.

Rotorua Scrapaway 2027 will still be a happening thing and a few other events too.

Loyalty points will still work the same way and can be used online or at the popups. Gift cards can also be purchased and redeemed online, at shows and at pop-up shops.

We have done our best to continue what we can for our local customers as we adapt to online retail for all customers and look forward to seeing you again.
So it's not goodbye, just we are changing.

We really appreciate your support and loyalty. We are in our 24th year as a storefront and wouldn't have lasted this long without you all. So thank you so very very much from Jonathan and myself and our family too as they have been part of "the shop front" with us. We look forward to seeing you this month at a crop, event or having a browse instore while you can as you change with us. Again a very heartfelt thank you to our papercraft community near and far.

The folio class is sold out and just a few spots/ kits remaining in the other classes now. So if you are a last minute decider now is your last chance as we will not be making up more kits after the event.
