FINALLY.......

It seems like the more you try the more you get kicked back
I have been working hard to get these books out to you Whanau

And now finally I can see a light

It is so nice to get a possibility rather than just a straight no
After my last phone call I feel relieved that the possibility of this ( and other books) is much closer now.

Like the donkey I am now stepping up higher and higher.

Who else is having the same moments - where your luck has finally changed?

ME RIGHT NOW ......

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less from people but more from yourself.

You have two choices... smile and close this page,
or pass this along to someone else to share the lesson ...

So I was so overwhelmed by everyone’s response from the poll - that I want to give back.

When jack and his Whanau came for a holiday, I noticed that there were many coffee mugs unattended. Half drunk, cold or still to be touched.

The busyness of his parents days ( especially mornings) meant they unselfishly tended to themselves second ( or not at all).

So I would like give a lucky person the opportunity to have a hot coffee ( or hot drink ) - this is just a small gesture to show my gratitude.

Tag ANYONE who would like this nice treat.
They don’t have to be a parent nor a part of the diabetes community, just anyone who deserves a hot drink.

This is not for likes nor for follows - this is me being inspired by your energy towards this kaupapa.

CONDITIONS
- Tag giving a quick explanation
- will be ordered from Z petrol stations (non nz residents please let me know an equivalent petrol station ) so must have one near lucky person
- must pick up no deliveries
- hot drink will be received on Friday 15 January 2021
- winner will be notified tomorrow so can get details ( ie. time for pick up, hot drink requirements etc )

I met this little fella on my morning hikoi and he got me thinking ?

As many of us return back to reality this morning - do what we do for our Whanau, lifestyle, self worth, bank account - we go back to our grind.

If this snail can make it across the path, one movement at a time, without being disturbed by the morning traffic - then so can I, I don’t need to make leaps to show progress - a step in the right direction is all that matters.

So what’s your “grind” you are getting back to ?

As a spectator rather than a participant,

This is what I can only assume is what it is like to have T1?

Enjoying life and then all of a sudden the brain begins to change.........

Yet how do you explain that to a toddler ???

To every cloud, there is a silver lining ........

Had I not experienced seeing a special one go through their pain, I would not have made this pukapuka.

Had I not spent hours setting up this platform to share with the world, I would not have seen the aroha you have for this kaupapa.

So due to many request, there are some things to come very soon ........watch this space.
