Two Wee Bookshops

The latest update … The bookshops have been moved to the new location . They are looking rather awkward in their new surroundings but with a bit of painting , planting and the cottage in the background ( bookshop office ) finished off if will look settled in .

Hi, I should introduce myself; I am Inger Nicholson the new owner of Ruth Shaw’s Two Wee bookshops in Manapouri .

The bookshops are currently closed for the winter and are awaiting relocation 800metres away to their new location to 74 Cathedral Drive Manapouri, on the lakefront.

Ruth had made the decision at the end of last year to step away from running the Two Wee Bookshops to retire and have
time to finish her next book . Ruth approached me with the offer of selling me the bookshops. It was an opportunity to good to pass up as I am a long-time bibliophile and was fortunate to have the perfect location for the Bookshops to be moved to.
Ruth and Lance have been family friends for a number of years. It has been a great honor to be entrusted with the handing over of the business which has steadily grown since Ruth started the bookshops 10 years ago.

We aim to open on Labour Weekend the 24th of October 2026.

Ruth will be giving us her continued support during the transition.

Sorry, we will be closed tomorrow (Friday 17th) as the weather looks a bit average.

This is our final week before closing for winter on the 19th April.

I have sold the bookshops to Inger who lives in Manapouri, they will be relocated to their new home over winter, on a wonderful site overlooking our lake.
