Its time to prune your Hydrangeas.

Mopheads and Lacecaps (Flower on old wood)
-Take out all your dead and damaged stems
-Prune out weak stems and old stems can be taken out right down to ground level.
-Cut back the stems that flowered last year to above 2 nice buds.
-Where possible leave any stems that didn't flower last year as they will produce this years flowers.

Quercifolia (Oakleaf - also flower on old wood)
These types are best left alone, just remove any damaged or dead stems.

Paniculata (Flower on new wood)
You can prune these very hard leaving just a few buds on each stem or if you prefer just trim back the old flowers.

Don't forget to feed them too!
