Open Gardens weekend is happening soon. Here's another incredible garden to add to your wishlist.
Island Stream Peonies in Maheno is a delightful and abundant garden where over 300 varieties of peony are on display, alongside the thousands of tree peonies in the commercial nursery beds.

Owners Toni Robertshaw & Doug Logan started from bare paddock only 5 years ago, introducing a lifetime's collection of trees and perennials sourced and grown from all over the world.

Collections of Galanthus, Hosta, Arisaema, Paris, Trillium and other woodlanders are scattered through collections of interesting and rare trees.

A trio of iris-bordered water-lily ponds descends into an arboretum, through a large stand of white-barked Betula and Helleborus, and down into an amphitheatre of Japanese cherries, maples, Sorbus and conifers.

The nursery will be open to visitors, selling potted tree peonies and perennials.
