It is with very mixed emotions that I share that we will be closing our Mount Maunganui store, with our final day of trading on 29 March 2026, just under two weeks away! This time it is actually happening!
Our physical store has brought us so many gifts, especially the gift of connection. We have met so many wonderful people through the shop, shared stories, laughter, tears of laughter and tears of sadness. There have been so many special moments, and we have built friendships with many of you along the way. For that, I will always be deeply grateful.
We have poured our hearts into this space, and it has been so much more than just a store. It has been a place to express everything Awa stands for, creativity, beauty, meaning, and connection.
But like a river changing course, this season is leading us somewhere new. It is time for me to step back from the shop, spend more time with my whānau and friends at home, and allow Awa Designs to evolve into its next chapter.
As we prepare to close our doors, everything is now at least 50% off. That means all NZ pounamu greenstone, sterling silver rings, pendants, earrings, gemstones, freshwater pearls, pāua shell, and so much more.
Please note that our website is currently down while we close down the shop. In a few months’ time, we will relaunch with a brand new website and exciting new ranges, and we are so looking forward to sharing that next chapter with you. We hope you continue to be a part of the next chapter with us.

We will be open every day from 10-4 until we close next Sunday 29th March.
