After 5 years, I have a new itch, I’m not sure what that itch is but I’m ready to say goodbye to Lilac Kitchen. I started this business to avoid sh*tty things in my life at the time and I didn’t realise it would grow into what it is 5 years later. I wasn’t reinventing the wheel and I surely wasn’t the only baker in Nelson. But I loved that I could create outside of my full time finance job. I delivered, marketed at Isel Market, cried, baked, did the dishes, cried some more and made a business I was proud of. I learnt how to say no and do what I felt was best for myself and my business. I ate cake off cuts, left over icing and coerced my husband to do all the things I didn’t. He helped support me through it all, when I had bitten off more than I could chew and just when I wanted to go to bed. I appreciate all of you for ordering, sharing, saying hi at the market and everything in between. I appreciate it and have enjoyed it so much.
This may not be forever but it’s goodbye for now until that itch comes back 💜
