Sweet, salty, and now officially gold standard. 🥇

Our Sea Salted Caramel Almonds picked up Gold at the 2026 Outstanding NZ Food Producer Awards, which still feels a bit unreal to type out.

When locals ask at the market stall, I usually joke that the recipe is a closely guarded and they need to join the secret "Guild of Nutmen" to get it. The truth is, when it comes to artisan craftsmanship, there are absolutely no shortcuts. Earning this kind of recognition comes down to years of experience, a lot of hard work, and an obsession with getting it right.

We slow cook whole almonds in small batches right here in Nelson until the caramel reaches rich perfection, then finish them with a light scatter of sea salt. Completely plant based, made without gluten containing ingredients, and entirely free from artificial colours or flavours.

Properly moreish. Brilliant for a grazing board, the three o'clock slump, or the classic combination: a handful and a cold b**r.

After so many years of setting up our stall at the local markets, transitioning our nut kitchen into a collaborative space just feels right.

We absolutely love being part of the Bridge Street Studios community. Sharing this space with other makers and small businesses brings that same awesome market camaraderie to our everyday work.

It is officially time to wrap up warm and witness Whakatū Nelson transform into a magical wonderland! Bayleys Te Ramaroa - Nelson Light Festival kicks off tonight and runs every single evening from the 3rd to the 7th of July, between 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

There is no set walking route, so you can wander as you please around the Cathedral, Selwyn Place, and NMIT to see all the brilliant light installations and catch some incredible local talent on the Community Stage. 🎶🎨

But let's be honest, it is going to be a proper chilly winter's night! And what could be better than a bag of hot, freshly caramelised nuts to keep your hands warm while you explore? ❄️🔥

Where to find the Nut Man:
We are set up in the food hub on Upper Trafalgar Street, right on the left side of the Cathedral steps (if you’re facing up towards the Cathedral from the Square). We are parked up right next to our lovely friends Mister Chai (serving delicious hot chai) and Cultural Conversations Nelson , it’s the ultimate spot to get your warm winter treats!

We are so lucky to have stockists in such beautiful spots! Today we were out in Mapua, Tasman, tucked right on the edge of the inlet. If you haven't visited the Mapua Wharf recently, it is the ultimate spot to slow down with ocean views and amazing energy.

We popped in to see the team at Rabbit Island Coffee. They roast their own coffee in-house and carry a fantastic range of goods from across New Zealand. We think there is no better combo than their fresh house roasts paired with our award-winning caramelised nuts! We love seeing our products on the shelves alongside other epic Kiwi producers.
