CARPET INSIDER SECRETS EVERY BUYER SHOULD KNOW!
Choosing carpet isn’t just about colour and softness. The pile you choose can make a big difference to how your carpet looks, feels and performs in your home.
Here are a few things to consider before you buy 👇
🐾 1️⃣ PETS & KIDS? THINK ABOUT THE PILE
Have pets or a busy family? Cut pile can be a great option, especially if you have dogs or cats with claws.
Loop pile can be more susceptible to pulls and snags from claws, toys and everyday activity. If you love the look and feel of a loop, choosing a smaller, tighter loop can help reduce the risk.
👣 2️⃣ FOOTPRINTS & VACUUM MARKS
Hate seeing footprints and vacuum lines?
Loop pile is fantastic at disguising tracking and tends to maintain its appearance well in busy areas.
Plusher, heavier cut piles can show footprints and vacuum marks more easily, while longer piles may flatten over time in high-traffic areas.
♿ 3️⃣ THINK ABOUT YOUR HOME'S NEEDS
Different homes need different solutions.
➡️ Mobility: For wheelchairs and wheeled mobility aids, a lower-weight loop pile with direct-stick installation can make movement easier.
➡️ Easy vacuuming: If vacuuming is difficult, avoid very long, high piles. A shorter, denser carpet is generally easier to clean and maintain.
🏠 THE EMPTY-NEST REWARD!
Once the kids have flown the nest and life gets a little quieter… why not treat yourself to that luxurious carpet you've always wanted? 😍
You deserve it!
🛋️ 4️⃣ DON'T FORGET THE UNDERLAY
This is one of the biggest things buyers overlook!
A quality underlay can improve comfort, insulation and carpet performance, while also helping your carpet last longer.
Sometimes spending a little extra on the underlay can make a bigger difference to how your carpet feels and performs than spending that same amount on the carpet itself.
