THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HARD POST TO WRITE
I’ve been putting off writing this because, honestly, it’s not easy to put into words.

This Sunday, 23 August, we will close the doors of Oakura Meat Co & Fine Foods.

With our lease coming to an end, we’ve decided that this is the right time to close this chapter and move on to some exciting new opportunities.

This shop has become so much more than just a business to us. It has been a huge part of our lives, and we have met so many wonderful people along the way.

To the Taranaki Community and our Oakura community along with everyone who has supported us thank you. Thank you for shopping with us, recommending us to friends and family, popping in for a chat, and supporting us through all the highs and challenges along the way.

We are incredibly proud of what we have created here and so grateful to have been part of this community. ❤️

But we’re not finished with the food industry!

Over the past few months, so many of our customers have asked whether we would consider offering homekill and meat processing so we’re excited to say that this is something we are now working towards.

We already have the venue in place and are just waiting for the all-clear from Council. 🤞

If you are interested in using our homekill and meat processing services, get in touch with us now to register your interest and hold your place. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have the final approval and can get underway.

🖤 And what about the shop?
We truly believe there are so many possibilities and opportunities for the right person to take over the space and make it their own.
It doesn’t necessarily have to remain a butchery it could become a deli, specialty food store, gourmet food business, or something completely different. The foundations are there, the shop is established, and there is plenty of scope for someone with fresh ideas and vision to create something really special.
