We also stock maps of hiking trails, nature books, cards and photography

. We are part of Ruggedy Range™ Wilderness Experience and also offer guided tours, water taxi services, road shuttles, cruises, kayaking and scenic road tours. You can find us at the Ruggedy Range™ Booking Office in the centre of Oban. Only 2 minutes walk from flight or ferry terminals and across the road from the Department of Conservation. We have a fantastic range of freeze dry food. Our Back Country main meal varieties include: lamb, beef, chicken, venison, vegetarian and vegan choices. We also stock some delicious desserts and breakfast options. The Outdoor Gourmet brands include options like: Tandoori Chicken with Creamy Yoghurt Sauce, Wild Mushroom and Lamb Risotto, Beef Bourguignon. The Stewart Island Outdoor Adventure & Gift Shop is hiring staff to help get the business back on track.

We are looking for professional, people-orientated, persons who have experience living and working in small, semi-remote places. Stewart Island has approx. 400 permanent residents and is mainly wilderness, so you must enjoy being in an outdoor environment. In particular you must be comfortable working for a small business and a small team.

We offer the opportunity to experience Island life and wildlife and the beautiful wilderness of Stewart Island.

Our roles will suit flexible, committed people willing to be supportive of the needs of the business as it tries to strengthen its base.
