We ambushed this wonderful tāne next door at The Blackhood Bakes this morning and asked him to sign a few more copies of his latest novel, One Day a Taniwha (Moa Press, August 2026).
This, of course, is Tīhema Baker 🌟
One Day a Taniwha is a beautifully written, powerful and important tale of tāne Māori mental health and young whānau set on the Kāpiti Coast.
Ngā mihi nui, Tīhema!! 🙏

📚😲😲Tirohia te mea i tae mai i tēnei rā! Look what arrived today!
He aha ngā taonga! What treasures!!
Both are published and printed by Lawrence & Gibson of Wellington.
One is by Lawrence & Gibson founder Murdoch Stephens - Pākehā Metaphysics; the other - U.X.O - is the ninth fiction work by Pōneke lawyer and author Brannavan Gnanalingam.
And, yes, that's a mini edition of Pākehā Metaphysics, complete with thin wooden covers - think super-thin plywood. 🪵➡📙
