Manufacturers of high end, handmade confectionery for retailers in the NZ market, with a small factory shop attached to our manufacturing plant in Kapiti.

We are a small family owned and operated confectionery manufacturing business located in sunny Otaki - pop in to say hi to us at 45 Miro Street. We wholesale to the NZ market. We manufacture many different lines including boiled candy, sugar free products, marshmallow (our hero product) brittles, hokey pokey, sherbet, and so much more.

Any locals looking for a unique Easter gift? How about an empty half chocolate shell that you can fill with your own treats? You can wrap it in cello, pop a bow around it and bingo - you have a super easter treat. We cant ship these due to fragile nature - local pickup only from our store @ 45 Miro Street, Otaki. Open from 8am until 4pm Wednesday and Thursday. $3.50 per half. Happy Easter.🐣

It's goodbye from Bruce and Helen, and welcome to Vic and Dale.

1 August 2008 saw Bruce and I embark on a totally new journey when we purchased Kapiti Candy Co. We combined a new household, a family of 5 cherubs, then threw in a business to complicate matters. Respect, trust and support from so many corners has seen this family business succeed.

Fast forward 15 years and 7 months and we have sold Kapiti Candy Co to Vic, Dale and their family. Victoria has worked alongside us for such a long time and her hubby Dale has shown he will support Vic on this new journey, along with their children and their extended family.

It’s emotional on so many levels for the Mackenzie, Byers and Minnis families. We have educated our blended family of Charlotte, Josh, Ryan, Rachel and Harry and their loved ones, (plus latterly our bonus work kids of Megan, Rohan and Madison) on how a small family business in NZ operates – through sunshine, happiness and tears. And believe me over the last 4 years there have been many tears from me. Small business is tough right now. There has not been any sugar coating required for Vic, she knows what she is getting herself in to. Bruce and I are committed to work with Vic to see her and her family take Kapiti Candy Co to the next level of success. So while Victoria has purchased Kapiti Candy Co, Bruce and I are now employees of Vic’s and we are looking forward to what is ahead. We will be supporting her on this journey for as long as she wants and or needs us. Please support Vic and Dale as you have supported us 😊

Hi everyone

We are changing technology providers in the next couple of weeks so it may be radio silence from us for a short while. You may see an "under construction" note on our website, you may not be able to reach us on the phone but rest assured we are here, happy and trading. We got a little creative yesterday and made a trial product. Maybe this could be a regular addition to our easter offering? Raspberry & Vanilla marshmallow encased in milk chocolate. Thoughts? They are so good - a great flavour combination. 😋😋😋

And that is a wrap from Kapiti Candy Co for 2023. Wednesday and Thursday will see us dispatching the last of our wholesale & web orders, but for now our retail shop is closed until 8 January 2024. We want to thank our loyal customers for your support, we wouldn't be here without you, we value each and every one of you.
And to our wonderful team - you know who you are - for your support, hard work, loyalty and humour, thank you :-)

Such a great weekend in Auckland. So good to finally meet Raewyn @ Smith & Caughey's - we really appreciate your support. Then took time to catch up with my nephews while we were in town - can't figure out if I am getting shorter or the boys are getting taller 🤔
