Small Business are suffering from Youth Crime in Palmerston North
As small business owners, we are suffering from the whammy both from the pandemic and juvenile delinquency in Palmerston North.
I am the owner of Happy Variety shop,
today Sunday morning 30th January, 2022, I WAS ATTACKED.
3 little kids broke into the shop, even they were trespassed several times. They smashed the shop by using their scooters, and used the scooters to attack me, they were cursing in the shop. I got multiple scratches on my body. Luckily, our customers arrived in time, they helped me to call the police, and worked very hard to control those bastards to avoid further injuries.
I am really appreciate the customers who saved and protect me from further injuries and loss. Can't imagine the dire consequences without their help.
The little bastards keep coming and making trouble to the shop, not even just my shop, I have heard lots of shop owners mentioned them, they steal goods, vandalism, swearing, hitting people with scooters.
The most irritating thing is nothing we can do about them.
We call the police every time. They come and issued you a reference number, and the little bastards have run away. Sometimes police do not even come or care about it.
As an Asian immigrant, we work very hard to integrate with the community, and we pay heaps tax each year, but we don't get any protection and security in this country. It's very frustrated and hopeless, that makes you feel like you give a lot to the community, and it slaps your face and gives you all kinds of harm.
Now I want to reject to keep silence, let the public know what is happening everyday, and I hope that people who have been victimised by them will step forward and give your voice. If you know their parents or guardians, please pass them on the fact that those kids are committing a crime, and need discipline.
I hope the government and the police can do the right thing, instead of sitting in an office ,and letting your taxpayers suffer and hurt.
