It was fun to meet ewe you all at the St Heliers Arts and Crafts Market and to introduce everyone to NZ's first woven wool dish cloth that's also great for bathrooms, and posting to friends and family overseas.
Thank you to everyone who said they were looking for a locally made alternative for their dish sponge, smelly cloths, mouldy cloths, and cloths that don't scour gently because those cloths can't scour at all.
I even bought a wool cushion cover from another stallholder (check out the photo). A great addition to the rumpus room for the teenagers and their friends - don't you think so?

Baabara, Baarry and Baaza visited 9 x Year 3 and 4 class while I talked about design thinking and architecture. They learnt about typical construction methods in NZ, and common insulation and cladding materials and what purpose they serve. Students also received an overview on recycled and bio-based materials as solutions. Students heard about materials having different properties and thought about how they could be applied. I made little videos showing materials being burnt to demonstrate what spread of flame means in the building industry. When students saw that wool doesn't allow flames to spread along a material, they were surprised and students in one classroom even applauded.

Two of my interests...Wool History + Architecture, rolled into 1 book! I am looking forward to reading this book, having it in my collection and showing it off.

Baabara, Baarry and Wooliam at the cutters to get hugs from Glen in Avondale. Thanks Sheila and Glen, lovely husband and wife team have been cutting fabrics for decades in Auckland.
