Progress has been made. Cork road-bed is now laid.

The backdrops did not adhere very well and I have had to refix with glue applied with a small brush. There is still a few bits to go but now mostly complete.
The two layers of 20mm XPF foam have now been installed and that has been painted with the "earth" colour which will be the "undercoat" when scenary materials are applied.
The track layout has also been traced and marked onto the foam base.
I have also started laying out the cork roadbed upon which the track will sit. This will help with reducing sounds of trains on rails so that the "engine" sounds are more prototypical.
I have also started forming the terrain on the river/bridge scene so that I can line up the bridges with the track at each end.

15 April. Today was the day I decided to create the page to record my progress. I have now caught up from November when we started planning the layout.

To help with laying out the track and scenery I decided to get a 1:1 scale print of the plan made. A large PDF file was sent to Helge at Signcraft in Waikanae https://www.signcraftkapiti.co.nz/ 5 rolls of print were picked up the following day! Awesome work, many thanks Helge.

Cut and taped together, I can now roll these out whenever required.
