Hello beautiful people,

I’m Anna, the founder of ZIGGY. I wanted to take a moment to share why we support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand and why we have been pretty inactive recently!

Mental health struggles have been a part of my journey for years, and if you have been following us since we were ZIGGY CASES, you will know mental health awareness has always been at the centre of our vision.

I’m currently navigating through some mental health struggles now, specifically SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). For those who might not be familiar, SAD is a type of depression that occurs at a specific time of year, usually in the winter when the days are shorter and there’s less natural sunlight. I want to be more transparent with this aspect of my life as awareness for mental health needs to become an open conversation to help break stigmas surrounding the topic.

New Zealand is in urgent need of funding and support for its overwhelmed mental health system, and the Mental Health Foundation is helping to combat this.

I want to encourage anyone else going through this to remember that it’s okay to take time for yourself. Reach out to loved ones, seek professional help if you need it, and be gentle with yourself.

If you’re battling with your mental health, please remember that you’re not alone. It’s okay to seek support, and things will improve!!!! (I promise)
