These 2 gorgeous quilts are all done and returned, made by Barbara M. I've done a plaid design on the blue and beige top to complement the block direction. The pretty houses and trees by TIlda pattern I've custom quilted, having fun with filling in each house, and note the flying bees around the trees.
Our son, partner and 2 grandies are coming over from Perth, so I'll be busy the next 2 weeks and probably not alot happening in the girl cave, so no posts in the next 1-2 weeks.
Be kind, be healthy, be happy!

New client Sharlene received her 2 lovely quilts on Saturday, which I have quilted all over designs on. THe pretty blue quilt has a camellia design and the lovely coral quilt has a new to me hibiscus with a bird design. Sharlene did a great job using leftover fabric for the backing too, making this a nice double sided quilt. Come to Lyn's Studio quilt show and you may be able to get an up close look at one or the other!
Marion B has re fashioned this minke Princess blanket into a much more useful quilt for her granddaughter, I have lightly quilted a soft curve to hold all the layers together.
Lyn's show details are here, also mark you calender for the wonderful Whangamata Show soon after.
Happy quilting.

Once again the long arm has been humming away , but the wonderful quilts haven't been returned to their owners yet, so you will have to wait a bit longer. But, here is a sneak peak at 2 of my projects in the works. A fun barnyard boogie applique quilt and a more modern type with appliqued circles and some slow/big stitch hand quilting.
Also there is a great quilt show coming up showcasing the work of the lovely ladies of Lyn's Quilt Studio, get along and support them, as well as purchasing those necessities we all need from the merchants!

Edited to add, well not only late, I also posted this on my personal page not this quilting page, geez, so here it is in its proper location. Apologies if you see it twice.
Oops running a little late, ah well, to make up for the delay, here are the photos of 2 very bright & vibrant quilts made by Lucy W. Both have been custom quilted using free motion and ruler work. Lots of thread changes to match on top and a striped backing fabric complements it all. Well done Lucy.
Happy sewing everyone.

It was great to catch up with some of Turua Patchwork Unlimited ladies last Wednesday at our first informal meeting for 2026. Also to do some shopping at the pop up shop of a local family destashing moms hoard of crafting supplies!!
Janet H collected her 2 quilts this weekend, one, a lovely kids quilt using pretty animal print fabric & with a flannel backing. I quilted a curly animal paw print all over this one. The 2nd quilt, approx single bed size, I've quilted an allover floral design.
Over xmas I made a bunch of calico dolls for Middlemore Hospital Foundation, which the staff draw on, explaining IV lines, cuts and bandages. Like using scraps in quilts and the bin doesn't seem to empty, same for my bag of wadding, after stuffing all these dolls it stil feels full!!!!
While the weather is settled we have stripped the plum trees, then cooked and frozen the pulp. The beans, courgettes and half the tomatoes are finished in the garden, so they got ripped out, & thanks to my daughter some more seedlings are growing in the glass house ready to go, yahh!
I'm looking forward to catching up with the Auckland Quilt Guild ladies next weekend and the Counties Country Quilt group the following Monday.
Keep creating, enjoy the process, keep busy.

Well, its been pretty miserable weather wise and some tragic events have occurred. Some quiet time has been had, thinking how quickly one's life can change.
I am now planning AND starting some of my projects to give me a purpose and something to focus on.
I have just finished an amazing bright rainbow coloured quilt on the long arm and am about to start another bright, smaller quilt, for a new customer. This, plus very busy days in the other job, has been good diversion therapy.
The best distraction of all, has been a visit from the grandkids, running outside in the rain, sheltering in the glasshouse, hunting for snails, picking plums, beans and tomatoes. Oh and finding a caterpillar on the swan plants!

Well, the weather has been interesting this past week, nice to hide away in the sewing room I reckon.
Michelle S has collected her pretty rainbow quilt, I've lighlty custom quilted, using rulers, I think this looks like flowers with a lacey border.
At present I'm working on a large quilt, doing a custom job, so more photos hopefully coming soon.
I have managed to finish my first official sashiko block, not sure where it will end up, but looks amazing on my design wall!
Thats it for this week, happy sewing.

Happy 2026 everyone!!! Hope you all achieved your goals over last 4 weeks or so, whether spending time with family, resting at home or getting out and about. We did all of that, and I had some time in my sewing room, sorting, rearranging, finishing projects & starting some new ones.
Welcome back to my old & hello to my new followers, I hope you get some inspiration from each other in these posts and continue to enjoy making your own masterpieces.
First official client of the year was Claire F, who made these 2 lovely cot quilts, one with hearts on front and cute Winnie the Pooh fabric on backing. The second one, had tiny little pink rabbits peeking out on some squares.
The second official client quilt of the year was this one by Marion B, clever embroidery on wool, pieced with bright fabric, to make this stunning wall hanging. I have custom quilted with many different background fillers and some fun border designs.

Well this is it for 2025, the last 2 clients quilts have been returned. Chris S made this stunning indigo coloured quilt with Japanese fabric, which I have custom quilted using rulers to look like Japanese fans in the blocks.
Barbara M made this bright diamond block quilt, which is also custom quilted with rulers and some free motion feathers.
Both of these quilts look great on the back as well, so very versatile.

Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu! Thank you very much to all of you who have trusted your works of art to me to be quilted during 2025, and for supporting a small home business.
Merry Christmas and wishing you all a creative New Year!
See you in 2026............

Found the photo of the 3rd quilt done by Suzie H from last week, yahh, this pretty pieced top with pnk gingham backing, I've quilted with a pretty daisy design all over.
Other recent returns are this predominantly green with pink crazy patched flower blocks made by Jenny D. I've quilted an all over curvy quilt design called chinese curves. Finally for today these 2 cute cot quilts made by Liz M, got quilted together with the same design of swirls and stars.
Next few weeks are busy with various xmas parties, craft markets and harvesting summer vegetables.
Stay safe, be healthy and party hard everyone!!!

So, it is back to earth (NZ) in the southern hemisphere after an amazing 10 days travelling through Hokkaido, onto Tokyo, & the Yokohama Quilt Festival in Japan!!!!
Lots of goodies made their way into my suitcase, looking forward to playing with them in the near future.
Meanwhile it is back to the long arm to get some client's quilts done. 3 have been returned to Suzie H, but I seem to have only 2 photos, duh?? A large blue/beige top I've quilted with waves to go with the ocean colours, and a cute childs quilt with animal fabric, I've done a plaid design to match the square pieced blocks.
More to come next Monday as the long arm has been going all weekend, and hopefully the quilts will be re-united with their owners!!
Time for a break outside to get some fresh air and Vit D, bye for now.

Bizebe Quilts Plus

Hi my name is Kirstin MacBeth, I have always had an interest in making things, from knitting ponchos for my dolls, or making dresses on my Grans treadle machine, to curtains and kids clothes. Over the last 20 years as time allowed between full time employment and raising a family I became addicted to quilting! I purchased a Nolting Long Arm quilting machine and frame a few years ago and have had a great time finishing both my own and many friends quilts. I now enjoy time with family, and feeding my passion for playing with fabric and quilting from home.

I have started this facebook store to sell some of my finished projects as they are taking up space that I need for new WIP (works in progress!)

I also offer my long arm quilting services to you. Pricing and booking forms under services tab.
