As promised last week here are some inspirational photos of my latest clients works of art!
The zig zag quilt was made by Maree D, and I've quilted modern straight lines in matching colours for texture.
The next 2 quilts were made by Margaret C. This cute playful space rocket top, got swirly stars quilted all over, to go with the space theme, and the black paint splash backing fabric is a perfect match!
Margarets 2nd top is this large beachy themed/coloured top, so I went with swirly water/wind style all over design. This also has the perfect bubbly teal coloured backing fabric.
p.s. I'm taking a break, so post here next week.
Bee happy, bee kind, bee well, and have a bee-utiful week! 🌻

I have been quilting this weekend but nothing has been returned to their owners yet.
So for your viewing pleasure, here are some scenic shots.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Tauranga, I can recommend Trinity Wharf, clean and tidy room, amazing view, ( from end of our hallway), and the buffet breakfast had lots of choice and everything we ate was yummy.
Keep smiling and keep creating.

Hello from Tauranga, not much sewing got done this last week as winding down from turua group show. Our exuberant grandsons and parents arrived for the weekend and we played outside, did some gardening and played a lot of battleships!!
Now I'm at the annual Ear Nurse Specialist conference in wet Tauranga for next 2 days. Concentration time, lol.
But this double-sided green quilt and the green batik quilt got quilted the weekend before, all made by Maree D. Lots of green.🍏☘️♻️
Happy sewing all. 🌺

Brrr crispy frosty mornings continue, and my poor car is out of the garage at present, which means hosing down just to get the doors open, and letting the car run for awhile before traipsing to work!!
At present it is the calm before the storm, meaning the Patchwork Unlimited Turua quilt show in Thames is on next weekend, 7th, 8th & 9th August.
Come and support our group exhibition in Thames, wander the Grahamstown markets, enjoy fresh fish & chips at the wharf or visit one of the many wonderful cafes for lunch.
Wendy and I had a successful day selling raffle tickets at the Auckland Guild Meeting on Saturday, we have 2 quilts up for grabs, see photos, first drawn winner gets to choose which one they like, second ticket gets the other one, so 2 chances to win a lovely queen size quilt.
I've been cleaning up the sewing studio/girl cave, and found another jacket I had started, using kiwiana scraps, so hope to get that finished today!
Client quilts are coming in which I'm looking forward to working on & sharing with you soon too.
Keep shining & keep crafting.

This mauve sampler quilt was done by Claire D's friend, and I have quilted with an all over feather pattern to add texture. This last week I've been working on some UFO's of my own. The big brown community quilt has been quilted, just needs binding. My Japanese fabric coat is nearly done, I hope to wear it at our quilt show in 2 weeks. I went for a drive to Mystery Creek Hamilton to attend Fibretron on Saturday 25th, wow, what an amazing event, gorgeous bright multi-coloured hand dyed wool everywhere, and so many visitors were wearing stunning hand knitted garments. Very inspiring, my knitting needles have come back out, going to try making a shawl. There was even a stand of hand-made fabric bags for carrying your knitting projects, and I met a friend sporting an amazing fabric jacket.
Thats it for this week, happy sewing or knitting.

Clients quilts are done but not returned yet, so inspirational photos to come later. This flimsy top is finally done, I started it a year ago at the community sewing day with Turua group, it turned our huge, king size, now it waits to be quilted, hopefully not another year.
Enjoy your crafting, whether with a large group in a hall or just a few mates at home, make it fun.
