From 1 September - I’ll be welcoming people into my cosy home workshop in Queenstown for the chance to create their own taonga.

Come along, slow down, get creative and learn the traditional process of working with pounamu - from choosing your stone, shaping and sanding, right through to creating something that is uniquely yours.

These will be small, intimate workshops with just two people at a time - giving you plenty of one-on-one guidance and space to enjoy the experience.

I’ve been working towards this for such a long time, and I’m SO excited to finally open the doors.

Kōuma / Breastplate

kōuma - a breastplate or chest ornament worn over the torso and heart (ngākau); traditionally associated with strength, protection and safeguarding the wearer.

To us, the kōuma is a symbol of protection worn close to the heart, it represents both physical and spiritual protection, acting as a shield for the wearer.

Here are 20 of our beautiful kōuma, ranging from smaller, understated pieces to truly jaw-dropping statement pieces.

Each one is handcarved from South Island stone and pounamu, with its own unique colour, pattern and character.

Rātapu / Sunday:
A day of rest… but not for us 🙌

Join me for a few hours and see what we have been up to - I’m not very handy so doing this myself has had many obstacles and taken way longer than i thought, but blasting some Blink 182 and 90’s bangers has helped me through.

Hopefully we will be ready to welcome you all to come CARVE YOUR OWN STONE by september !!!

Eek can’t wait for you to see my little corner of the world - Have a cuppa and a kōrero and create something meaningful to take home.

New Toki - Pounamu.

These bad boys are fresh off the work bench this week and looking for a new home.

As with all of our Taonga - each piece has its own unique character, texture and style - so no two creations are ever the same.
