A very Sad truth - let’s Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Refill instead. Recycling has its place but until the government firmly bans hard to recycle plastics and companies have legal stewardship over their products, there is no accountability for these items and too many end up in landfill or becoming a pollution problem for developing countries and our oceans!

Today’s refills and Yes it’s been a while!! Not that The Refillery’s been closed, just that it’s been a busy summer and these kind of posts have taken a back seat. You awesome Russellites have been keeping us in mind all along and together have found that the drop off/collect or delivery option has been a clear and easy winner, meaning that we can be available every day for refills now - Thank you for making the decision to reuse before removing these containers from your household. We have some awesome new and completely waste free natural products joining the line up very soon too 😁

Running a holiday home can easily produce a lot of waste. You can refill all your guest amenities with us with one easy drop off. We have some gorgeous body wash fragrances to choose from too! Hand sanitizer doesn’t need to be those nasty chemical smelling gels - We have in stock sanitizing spray as the perfect alternative. It has a vanilla scent, the smaller glass bottle easily fits in your pocket or bag and of course we can refill them! $6.50 per bottle and includes a free refill. 🌿🔄💚

Refilling isn’t Beautiful to look at - it’s a random collection of shapes, sizes, colours and contents. What is beautiful is that all these containers are staying out of the recycling system or worse - the Earth itself - for a bit longer.

Here’s the instructions for how to make your own Citrus All-purpose Cleaning Spray.
Feel welcome to message me if you have any questions. As vinegar is an acid I’d recommend spot testing before using it the first time (not recommended for Marble). You can also use this mix undiluted anywhere you have hard to move grease or mould.

YOU WILL NEED
🌿 500ml – 750ml Glass Jar with lid
🌿 1 cup of Citrus Peel – The rind is where the oils are. No flesh or juice.
🌿 2 Sprigs of Rosemary – You can also use Mint, Thyme, Sage or Lavender. I like Rosemary for its fragrance and it also has Antibacterial properties.
🌿 500ml (approx.) 9% Distilled White Vinegar. This is the high strength vinegar used for cleaning (we have this at the Refillery). 4% Store bought white vinegar is also fine you just have a higher dilution rate when it’s ready and it’s not quite as powerful undiluted.

HOW TO MAKE
🌿 Cut peel into strips and add to the jar with the Rosemary.
🌿 Pour in vinegar until the jar is full.
🌿 Seal the lid and set aside in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks or longer
🌿 When ready, strain the liquid so it is free of the peel and rosemary.
🌿 In a spray bottle pour to 1/2 way and then top with cold water if using 4% vinegar or fill to 1/4 and top with cold water if using 9% vinegar.
🌿Give it a shake and you are good to go!

This is the perfect time of year for making homemade cleaning spray. I spent some time today making my favourite - Lemon and Rosemary. 2 weeks and it will be ready to use. Would anyone like instructions how to make this? I’ll add some 500ml bottles to the shop too if you don’t have time to do your own 🌿🍋
