So, after 2 glue ups and then trimming and hours of sanding it’s time for food safe mineral oil. Very satisfying to see the colours come out of the Rimu and Maple timbers. I’ll add a coat of beeswax to give it a silky smooth finish.

This is my latest end grain butchers block I made just for fun. It takes time to make, multiple glue-ups and lots to sanding. Made from Rimu, Walnut and maple. This board will last a lifetime, it’s better for your knifes (it doesnt dull the edge as much as a normal board) and all hardwoods. Ideal as an everyday board, or a showpiece in your kitchen.
It’s chunky, 500 x 300 x 50mm.
As it’s a one off I’m selling it at a special price of $250
