Hello Tairua, I have a slight SOS. Does anyone have a spare Gingerbread House kit lying around or is there anyone who is heading to The Warehouse today who could pick one up for me.

There is a story behind my desperate plea.

This year I organised the inaugural Neilson-Crook family Christmas Gingerbread House decorating competition. Entries are in, except ours, because on my return from holiday I stupidly left that Naughty Elf on a Self at home rather than bring him to the shop. Alas, on my return home that evening I found naughty Elf had enlisted the dogs in his hijinks and the gingerbread house kit no longer sat intact upon the dining table but lay scattered throughout the dining room with half eaten lollies trailing from the lounge and onto the deck.

So please, if anyone is going to The Warehouse would you please pick one up for me.

Boy oh boy, I'm enjoying my first holiday in four years involving sun, sand & palm trees ( & not forgetting the wonderful combination of pool, lounger, book & cocktails). Work was a distance memory, banned from the conversation, work emails were not being read and the phone number for Tairua Lotto & Stationery blocked. And then this happened...these naughty Elves on the shelf just will not stay on the shelf. I had to leave a big tip for Housekeeping because of the mess Elf made, every single day! Immigration NZ had to check visitors from the North Pole can arrive in NZ without a Visa, turns out they can (although Santa was not happy that Elf was on holiday instead of home 's workshop making toys) I'm at my wits end, thank goodness its only 21 sleeps till Christmas.

Heavens to Betsy, look what I stumbled across when I opened the store this morning.

The naughty elves on a shelf were not on the shelf, and, they had been very, very naughty elves. It appears that the moment I closed the doors & turned off the lights the naughty elves climbed down off the shelf and began to play. They raided my lollie jar and ended up in a sugar slumber underneath the Christmas tree.

Its not even December yet, there are still 42 days till Christmas! Whatever am I to do? How do I get the elves to stay on the shelf?

When I left the Store last evening things were exactly as when I arrived that morning. But somehow, in the middle of the night, voila the plaza bench has reappeared and its even better than before. At first I thought the naughty elves had been hard at work, but that would be against character, so, I think the kudos must go to Glenn & Gavin. Fantastic job guys, its already been put to use.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I have never experienced anything like it. NZ Post delivered my naughty elves on a shelf this morning and when I opened the box six naughty elves jumped out & away. It has taken me all morning to find them & get them back on the shelf.

I'm not sure I'm looking forward to spending the next seven weeks with these naughty elves, they are incorrigible.
