Big news for Taradale. 🚔🎉

The brand new Taradale Police Station on Gloucester Street is officially open!

Built in just 8 months using modular construction, the two-storey station provides a modern workspace for up to 50 Police staff and has been designed with Hawke's Bay disaster resilience in mind.

A dawn blessing was held earlier in the day, honouring the new building and the memorial stone for fallen officer Senior Constable Len Snee, with his family in attendance.

A great milestone for our village and the wider community. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Meet Tracey & Claire, the co-managers behind Our Story Preloved Boutique in Taradale 💛

Both coming from very different backgrounds, they’ve brought their own experiences, passion, and personalities together to create something truly special for the community.

Claire previously worked in her family’s apple exporting business before discovering a love for sustainable fashion, community connection, and volunteering through Our Story. Tracey comes from an equine and skincare business background, with years of experience in marketing and sales both here and in the UK.

What started as volunteering for both of them soon turned into co-managing the boutique together, helping grow a space that is about so much more than just clothing.

Our Story supports the Hawke’s Bay Brain Injury Association, with all funds raised staying right here in Hawke’s Bay. But beyond the fundraising, the boutique has become a place where people connect, build confidence, share stories, and leave feeling better than when they walked in.

From helping customers find outfits for special occasions, to watching volunteers come out of their shell and grow in confidence, Tracey & Claire have built a welcoming space that genuinely feels like family.

They’re also passionate about the future of Taradale, loving the strong sense of community and the growing focus on sustainable shopping and supporting local businesses.

“We’re a boutique experience for any budget.”

A massive shoutout to these two for everything they do for the community and for creating such a positive space in the heart of Taradale ♻️✨

If you haven’t visited Our Story yet, pop in, say hello, and maybe even find your next favourite piece.

Congratulations Ingrid, our Mother’s Day Giveaway winner! 💐

One of the best parts of this giveaway wasn’t just seeing someone win, it was seeing how Ingrid immediately wanted to share it with others. ❤️

Ingrid chose vouchers from Bin Inn Taradale and SOURCE, two places that mean a lot to her and her family. Binn Inn helps her find the specialty foods her son needs, while Source has become a special place where she takes her grandchildren for fluffies and coffees after catching the bus into Taradale together.

Instead of keeping the prize for herself, Ingrid decided to share it with other amazing mums, educators, friends, and family members she had tagged in the competition, turning it into something everyone could enjoy together.

As a mum of three sons, grandmother of eight, and someone who has spent years running a home-based childcare service, Ingrid spends so much of her life putting others first. Hearing her talk about community, family, and doing something special for the people around her was incredibly inspiring.

Thank you Ingrid for sharing your story with us, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, caregivers, and educators in our community. 🌸

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the Taradale Business Association! 💐
