This time of year theres nothing quite as much fun as fishing with articulated lures.
The dungeon is a mainstay for big lure users.
With its dense deer hair head it pushes a lot of water and allows a lot of wiggle movement when twitched.
I have sized these down to 85-90mm and the minis down to 70-75mm to better fit nz conditions.
Ahrex hooks raid zap resin to finish and secure the fly at each step gives you a solid lure that will last for many fish
Using materials from kindale and upavon to get the pulsing movement just right.
At only $12ea these are always worth a play.

The uv squirrel is a fantastic fly for anytime the trout are on smelt.
Lake edges, river mouths or stream side the uv flash through the body gives just another reason for the trout to chase these down

If you enjoy swinging during winter these won't leave you wanting.

Tied with hends spectra dubbing for the rear section and kindale guines fowel and x select marabou these are guaranteed to move in the current without being bulky
