I received a lovely message from a lady in Queenstown enquiring about merino vests as she had bought a couple off me for her grandson last year 🥰 That prompted me to cast one on over the weekend as they really are perfect for spring. And I’ve always loved this colour Taupe.
I also received a message asking for more subdued colours as sometimes my choices are a bit dark and/or bright for little ones. I like constructive feedback like that and these are the messages that help me choose my next projects.

Spring is coming but there are so many winter jumpers I still want to knit 😊 This one is merino with a beautiful fleck through both the cream and red, it will have cream edges which is contrasting so nicely with the red, and a slightly textured yoke with garter stitch rows.

I couldn’t resist knitting these colours together when I saw them. I’ve used Kremke 100% 10ply merino which has a soft and buttery feel and is knitted to fit 3 years old. Perfect layering for fast approaching spring! Please send me a message if you are interested in this one 😊

One of the many processes of knitting jumpers are the raglan increases. These increases are used to shape the shoulders and yoke and it’s important to work them evenly and at the correct tension. It’s always so good to get to the end of them, because it’s at this point that you then divide for the sleeves. From here you blissfully knit round and round and round to cast off 🙌

This is the project I have on the side, the one I pick up when I’m tired or when I don’t feel like concentrating on a pattern. It’s the one I pick up while I’m thinking about what I feel like knitting next or when I get bored with a current project. It grows slowly as sometimes I’ll knit half a dozen rows, and sometimes I don’t touch it for days. I love all the autumnal earthy tones in it but I don’t imagine it will be finished anytime soon 🤍

I started a new little jumper this morning. It is a pattern I knit a lot from Petite Knits which has a beautiful textured yoke and is a perfect fit. I’m using Koigu for this one which is a very soft and almost silky merino, the colour has lilac tones and is being knitted to fit 1-2 years 💜
