As another prep day unfolds for Matariki, the kaupapa remains clear — this is not about big corporate lighting displays or industrial installations.
Every piece along the light trail is community-created, handmade with intention, and grounded in meaning.
Our installations are built from sustainable and repurposed materials, woven together through creativity, storytelling, and collective effort. Each light carries kaupapa — honouring connection, whenua, whakapapa, and the sharing of mātauranga through art.
This trail is about people over profit.
Hands making. Whānau creating. Community shining together. ✨

Spent some beautiful time today with the whaioranga at Turning Point Trust — an organisation supporting adults navigating mental health challenges and addiction recovery.
We explored creativity through colouring and connection, creating a calm and welcoming space to slow down, kōrero, and simply be present together.
Wee gifts for Mothers Day.

“Creative activities like colouring can support mindfulness, reduce anxiety, and provide gentle healing through creativity and connection.”

So much strength, courage, and creativity in one room 💛
