Beautiful piece commisioned for a wedding.

2 piwakawaka together on a branch to represent love & commitment.

Sitting on a 2000 year old piece of swamp totara.

A heart necklace carved from a small bit of native driftwood bound to each of their legs represents the bond of marriage/unity/love commitment.

Finished this Tieke "Saddleback" for a lovely client in whakatane who works with looking after these beautiful birds to keep them from being endangered.

Was a pleasure to try replicate one for her. Pleased to announce it arrived safely today and she loves it. So thats always nice to hear. Makes what I do worth while.

Things have somewhat had to ramp up in the studio.

More commisons coming in to add to the list I already have. I am so thankful for all the lovely comments and people dedicating their hard earned money to buy a piece of my art.

Feeling blessed and thankful for this opportunity to create the art I love knowing that it is going somewhere where it will be cherished and loved just as much as I love creating them.

Have got 2 big commissions on the horizon. They will equally be both my hardest and challenging creations to date.

The almighty "kakapo" and a falcon...2 very big birds and will take a long time to create.

When I first started out on this journey I saw these 2 birds as the ultimate felting goal. I use to think to myself man if you could needle felt any one of those 2 birds and get it looking remotely similar you would be doing well.

So finally the universe has sent me the challenge.. and to be honest its a bit of a daunting challenge!! luckily for me I love a good challenge haha

so watch this space...

Another piwakawaka "fantail " finished and sent off today to its new owner.

kingfisher commision completed and now with its proud owner. Its the third bird the client has purchased from me. Becoming quite a collection.

This is the 4th kingfisher ive done now and they dont get any easier. They have quite a peculiar shape and stance to them which is somewhat hard to replicate.

Now that im back in studio I will finish this bellbird watch this space.

back in the studio finally...Very s**t weather outside and finally got a chance to get back into what I love to do.

Started a new job 4 weeks ago and its taken a bit to adjust to and get energy levels under control.

so unfortunately just have t had time to make birds. Until now that is. Have this kingfisher commision I need to have finished by next week so going to spend the entire day today adding colour and getting the top coat finished.

Life can throw you curve balls alot and sometimes you just dont get enough time to work on the things you love and ate passionate about!!

so happy to be in the studio and stabbing a needle again.

will post up the finished kingfisher in next couple of days.

Also have this bellbird to finish so watch this space.
