Just a note on my build after almost completing it the motor crapped out,
BU**ER. I got two choices get another saw from mitre10 or get a smaller 6" lap from ali express which in the end will cost almost the same, might think another saw (new) from mitre10 for the motor.. me thinks ??.
Ok.. bit od a speal here,
My old 5 year old MITRE10 $109 tile saw ( used as a trim saw) being swapped out with a new exactly the same model tile/ trim saw, absolutely nothing wrong with the older one absolutely recommend for slicing smaller rocks that are about palm size or slightly bigger, depends on how game you are hahaa,or trimming your pieces.
Making a flat lap out of the old one maybe a 6" lap may even try a 8" lap and if I feel ambitious a 10" lap who knows , will keep you up on it as I go along, predicting no further cost on the build ( for me)
PS I did swap the blade out to a 200mm sintered blade,comes supplied with a 180mm diamond blade.
