Timaru Booksellers An independent community bookshop in the heart of Timaru. We connect readers to really really good books.

We host author events, bookclubs, writing workshops and much more so come and see us in store. We are specialists at ordering unique and hard to find books, so if you're after a particular book that you can't find anywhere, come and see us. We don't use Facebook for promotion or communication so if you'd like to get in touch, do the old fashioned thing and give us a call or write an email!

School holidays are coming and Timaru Booksellers has the pleasure of hosting the wonderful Mary Duff in our shop to talk about her new children’s book “A Discovery in the Rocks”. This new pukapuka is about a rare ancient whale fossil found near Tokarahi in North Otago. The beautiful watercolour illustrations are by Burns Po***ck and the students of Duntroon School, making this a book for tamariki BY tamariki 🙌🏼 See you in-store at 12pm Wednesday 30th September to meet Mary, hear about the true story behind the book, and make some free ocean-themed origami!
