Personal Note — For Carol

One saving grace about Carol’s onset of dementia was she could never remember that she hadn’t paid for a meal in all the time I spent with her — and that’s something I’m so proud of.

As a volunteer, I don’t make any money from helping out at the charities.

ESPECIALLY when , being the manager means i have to have the tp topped up , along with the milk , coffees , teas , dishwashing liquid etc etc .... but i knew this when i signed up. I just wanted to help and Carol was MY REASON WHY !!! (my reason to help)

I’m always broke. But whenever Carol was hungry, she’d say to me, "Tom, it must be my shout — let’s go get lunch."

And I’d say to her, "No, Carol — you shouted yesterday. It’s my turn to get us lunch."

Regardless of how much money I had on me, I’d always make sure she got whatever she wanted first — even if it meant going without. I’d just tell her, "you do know — I’ve already eaten right ?."

And she’d look at me and say, "When? I don’t remember that."

And I’d say, "Yeah, you saw me eat." 👀

"DID I ?!? " she'd ponder n id say "yes. Of course "....

Now , I know that may sound cruel, and like i was exploiting her illness but that was NEVER thee intent that was just how we were and our dynamicfor SEVEN YEARS !!!. And like I said — I’m proud that she never once had to buy a meal with me. As broke as I am, and as broke as I’ve been…

I love you, Carol. And I miss you so dearly. 💔💔💔

EVERY Morning Carol would say to me "Im going out the back for a FAG "
and id quickly reply
"CAROL !!! ITS 2019/2020 /2021 etc etc ...you CANT say that anymore !!! You HAVE TO say - im going out the back for a HOMOSEXUAL !!!"
.Then she'd punch me in thee arm walking past n say "Silly man ! " 😂😂😳😭😭💔

It's been incredible having you back to visit Baby Char(k) (and Kylie) Malice lives here ! .... especially during this sad week with Carol passing away 😢 💔 😞
