At Waiōrea CRC, some of the best ideas come from the people around us. Our Craft Club is a community-led initiative where reclaimed textiles are transformed into something new and useful, giving them a second life instead of sending them to landfill.

If you'd like to get creative while helping reduce textile waste, join us every Friday from 10am–12pm. No experience needed, just bring yourself!

Proudly supported by the Albert-Eden Local Board and Waitematā Local Board.

Waiōrea Community Recycling Centre is turning 3! 🥳

We've got four days of fun planned, with something a little different each day. Join Tom for a behind-the-scenes Recycle Yard Tour, bring along garments for mending at Craft Club, hunt for bargains at our $1 Shoe Sale, and wrap up the celebrations with free cupcakes and a Sustainable Adventure Race for the kids.

We'd love to celebrate this special milestone with you. Come and celebrate three wonderful years of recycling, repairing, reusing and bringing people together!

Choosing right is more important than choosing more.

A handful of quality, versatile pieces can go a long way. Mix and match them, dress them up or down, and you'll have outfits for almost any occasion.

Today we said farewell to our wonderful volunteer, Janice, after a couple of years of dedicated service at Waiōrea Community Recycling Centre. 💚
Janice has been involved in just about every corner of Waiōrea—from sorting mountains of clothing for our $5 Fill a Bag sales, to jewellery, and supporting workshops in our Pū Mātauranga education hub. Organised, efficient, and always wearing a smile, she has quietly made an incredible difference behind the scenes.
She'll also forever be remembered as our Queen of Stacking 👑—holding the unofficial Waiōrea record for the most impressive stacking creations, whether it was towering Fill a Bag sacks or somehow fitting an impossible amount into the dishwasher! Those legendary stacking skills will be hard to beat.
We gathered after Craft Club today to celebrate Janice and thank her for everything she has given to our community. A special thank you to Robyn, whose beautiful harp performance made the farewell even more memorable.
Janice, thank you for your kindness, commitment, laughter, and the countless hours you've shared with us. You've helped shape Waiōrea CRC into the welcoming place it is today, and you'll always be part of our story.
We wish you all the very best for your next adventure. You'll always have a place at Waiōrea Community Recycling Centre . 💚

If you haven't seen our new children's apparel area yet, now's the perfect time to check it out!

Every item is just $2.

A special thank you to all the talented young artists who attended the Dizzie Pixie's Full Circle School Holiday Programme for creating the beautiful sign. We love it!

Chris is a retired psychiatrist and an active local volunteer who is passionate about supporting community and environmental initiatives.

Every Sunday, she volunteers at Waiōrea Community Recycling Centre alongside her granddaughter Rosa. You'll usually find Chris in the apparel container, pricing garments and helping keep up with the busy weekend restocking.

We'd love to welcome more volunteers into the Waiōrea whānau. Keen to be part of a great team for a few hours each week? Email Christine at [email protected] to get involved.
