Alpha Carbon Repair is up and running again. I would like to thank Tristan Thomas for his assistance (and patience) in the sale, and of course, to both him and Cameron for getting it to where it is today.

It has been a busy week so far, unpacking the boxes and equipment, and setting up my workshop. Initially I will run this from our home in Upper Hutt, and provide the same services as previously offered. I will also look to expand the Carbon Repair service to include other items such as composite kayaks, which I am able to accommodate in my workshop.

About me: I started racing (road cycling) in Hawkes Bay in the mid 1980's and moved to Wellington in the early 1990's, when mountain biking was beginning to really take off in the region. I raced both road and mountain bikes in the region, including a couple of Tour of Wellington races, a few Karapoti Classics, and National Mountain Bike series races.

Composite experience: One of my hobbies is building and flying model aircraft. I started working with carbon fiber many years ago molding propellers for racing model aircraft. This progressed to building whole model aircraft, laminating carbon into wing spars to increase strength. More recently, I have taken to repairing kayaks and surf-skis made from composite materials, including carbon honeycomb.
