What a wonderful afternoon with Witi Ihimaera Smiler at Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui, Wellington City Libraries 🐋📚

It was such a privilege to be there for the launch of The Star Path, Witi’s much-anticipated return to the world of The Whale Rider.

Witi was incredibly generous with his time - reading, storytelling, singing and laughing, and then spending absolutely ages signing books and chatting with people as he made his way through the crowd.

There was such warmth in the room and so much affection for this extraordinary New Zealand writer.

An absolute treasure.

A huge thank you to Wellington City Libraries for having Marsden Books along - we loved being part of such a special afternoon.
