Spent half a day today helping out at Masterton Miniature Train Society. The whole railway is getting a major rejuvenation, thanks to the wonderful team from Mitre10 Masterton and their ‘helping hands’ programme. The amount of work is just amazing; engine shed lining, station repainted, new trusses for the bridges, tunnel repairs and enhancements, signage updated, the list goes on. Just phenomenal!

Good grief! Seems the order form on our website glitched a couple of weeks ago and half the orders didn’t get through. All fixed now and we are fully up and running again. Apologies to anyone who thought we were ignoring them.

Our local club, Wairarapa Railway Modellers, has been involved in the refurbishment of a diorama. This is at Cobblestones Museum in Greytown and features the Greytown railway station in the early 20th century.

Work has included repainting the buildings, adding more scenery, static grass etc. Last weekend, we reconnected the wiring and gave the track a good clean - followed by a successful test run.

Starting a stocktake today, we found a few HO scale items by LJ Models. Designed for Australia, they should suit NZ layouts also.

This is a Victorian-era small weatherboard and iron church with chancel and vestry. These churches are still seen today and would also suit a modern-era town or...
