Hello to all of our lovely customers and stallholders.

This is a quick post to confirm that Leah and Libby ran out of time to organise the Christmas Collective this year.

We know how much you love our exclusive event, however we kept waiting for everything to “settle down” and by the time it did it was too late.

You will be pleased to know that many of your favourite stallholders from the Christmas Collective market are part of the Welly Collective stores. Four convenient locations with shopping friendly hours. Courtenay Place (opposite St James), Miramar (next to the Roxy), Johnsonville Mall (in the old Paper Plus store) and at Queensgate Mall.

🤞🏻for next year

So yesterday we reached the 21st of October. The day we said we would make a decision.
We were so conflicted and know that whatever we decide we are not going to please everyone.
So, ripping off the band aid and saying ‘Sorry, not this year’
We are absolutely gutted and know you will be as well.
There were a number of other factors involved in our final decision:
1. St Mary’s are not hosting any community events whilst we remain under level 2 – we cannot predict the future but level 1 is looking increasingly out of reach.
2. It is an indoor venue and we would have had to reduce the number of stalls to be able to make it feasible and abide by social distancing protocols.

A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to make this 3 hour shopping experience seamless, fun and worthwhile. We also know it’s not just us putting in the hours, we know the vendors have been busy preparing or starting to prepare stock. So believe us when we saying we are not making this decision lightly. Come November the 18th the birds may be singing and the sky may be blue and we may have miraculously dodged cases in the Wellington region… but we could also be looking at cancelling at the last minute, working through what we can refund to our stallholders based on the expenses we have accumulated and while some may be ok with this, others just can’t take that risk.
What we will be doing is giving all of our vendors a shout out on our Christmas Collective social media so you will still be able to contact them to make a purchase.
We wish you all the best in these unpredictable times and hope that we can welcome you along next year.

On October 21st we will make the decision to go ahead this year or if we have to wait until 2022.
We have not asked our stallholders to pay invoices yet but have each site filled with some amazing products for you to come and see and so many creatives hoping they get to come to Karori this year.

Hello! We hope you and yours are all safe and well.

After much discussion we have decided to have a break from organising the annual Christmas Collective market this year. There are a number of reasons but mostly we just don't think we can bring the enthusiasm this year as there is so much uncertainty... if you know us, you’ll know that it’s all or nothing.

We have no idea what the next few months are going to look like. Whilst we appreciate there is a real drive to ‘support local’ currently we are also aware that there are a lot of markets around the Christmas period.

We don’t know how people will feel about being in small, busy venues and we want an event that would make people feel happy, safe and relaxed.

Thank you for your support over the last 3 years.... we will see you at other events....

Merry Christmas for 2020 (yes, that feels weird!) and see you next year😉
