Heading to Whanganui and hunting vintage?
Check out:
The Collective, 57a Victoria Avenue. Shop hours are 10 am till 3 pm Tuesday through till Saturday. The shop is bursting at the seams with quality vintage items. Including fantastic art glass, hand knotted carpets, vintage kitchen area, mirrors, art knickknacks and collectibles, and much much more.

City furniture exchange 83 Tawa street, Gonville. The shop has quality secondhand goods including lots of antiques and collectibles and is well worth the visit. Shop hours are 9 am till 4 pm weekdays, 9 am till 1 pm Saturday. I’ve tagged the page so you can have a look and follow them.

Crickle Creek Trading at Whanganui River Market
These guys trade at the market every second Saturday. Always a great variety of retro vintage goodies including old tools and very good clothing. Another page well worth following because they do online sales.

‘The shop with no name’ at 56 Guyton street just down from the auction room. The owner has recently relocated from Rutland Street and you may be familiar with that shop. This place is packed with treasure so allow plenty of time. Especially if you like books as there are thousands to look through.
Shop hours are yet to be established so try your luck. The owner will usually open by appointment if you get in touch

Vintage Goods at 139 Victoria Ave, the owners have recently relocated to this location. They were previously trading in Victoria Court. Huge shop pack to the rafters with goodies

Whanganui Vintage Fair holds events in Springvale Stadium three times a year and these are not to be missed. Absolutely enormous venue and always fully booked. You’ve never seen so much vintage in one place . Next event is October 25th.

There are three very good bookshops in Whanganui as well:
Red Cross Liverpool Street
Glasgow street book shop
Second hand/ collectable books on Ridgeway street
