💥 Wow, that Monday energy! These kids know how to bring it!

Wet felting with this crowd was a whole load more "enthusiastic" than my chilled out Thursday class. 😅

So I took a different tactic and introduced music to the madness. It was dance party style and I have to say I was questioning myself with the first song but when the second request was for Zombie by the Cranberries I was rocking along with the rest of them. These kids are cool.😎

💯 And it worked - we fully had a 100% success rate with all kids finishing on time and completely!

Time now for a quick bit of dinner then its off to Coastguard training for the evening. 💙

🥳 🌈 RedlowGypsy Stained Glass Parties! 🌈 🥳

🤔What are they??

Basically - you get a group of friends together at your place (or your work, sport club whatever) and then I turn up with everything you need to create your own stained glass suncatcher! 💜

✨️Just pick your precut design then learn how to wrap it in copper foil and solder it together - too easy!

🤩Friends, food, art and laughs - now that's a fun amd unique way to spend a couple of hours!

Cost is $75 per person. Minimum of 6 people. Takes about 2 hours.

Whanganui and surrounding areas (Palmerston North, Hawera, Levin, Taihape) by arrangement.

Blenheim or Christchurch first week of July.

✨ Today was an early start heading over to Palmerston North to teach a couple of copperfoil workshops for a wonderful women’s social club.

🌈Can i just say, social clubs are such a cool thing. Different ages, different backgrounds, different life stories — all coming together regularly to try new crafts, activities and experiences. There’s something pretty special about the female ability to make that kind of connection.

✨️A huge thank you to all the ladies for having me along to share my craft with you today. You all did such a beautiful job with your suncatchers! 💯

💐Already looking forward to coming back for fused glass workshops with you all soon! 💜

😊There’s been a lot of thought and planning poured into my Young Creators art classes.🎨 As a mum to a child on the spectrum, I’ve learnt just how important tactile experiences can be for children — how different textures, materials and hands-on creativity can light them up in completely different ways.✨️

🐑So imagine the collective delight today when the kids were presented with the softest, fluffiest roving wool imaginable… a pretty dramatic contrast to last week’s medium of glass!

🌈The room was full of excited chatter as the kids chose their colours, layered up their wool, added water and then rolled, rolled, rolled their fluffy creations into beautiful little felted bowls. 🧶

💜Watching these young artists explore, create and connect through art is one of my favourite things. Their joy is contagious ✨

Hey! So, not technically art related tonight - but something else dear to my heart. 💙
I post a bit about my love of the ocean, and how it inspires me, I'm also a Coastguard volunteer, so a bit of shameless asking coming in here 🙏
🌊 I'd love it if you could click the link and sponsor my 10km swim to raise funds for Coastguard NZ 🏊‍♀️

Why not dive in for Coastguard's Big Swim this June to help save more lives on the water? Or show your support by making a donation.

🌟There’s a different kind of energy in our Thursday Young Creators class… maybe it’s the tail end of the week, the activity itself, or maybe just the personalities that gather around the table — but Thursdays tend to bring a calmer, quieter collection of budding artists.

🎨Today we worked with glass, creating mosaic pieces on beautiful acacia wood, and honestly… watching these kids settle into their creativity and just do their thing is something pretty special.

💜I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to hold space for these classes and witness the way tamariki respond to different mediums, textures, colours and ideas. Every child approaches creativity so differently, and seeing their confidence grow week by week is such a privilege. 🌈

🙏A huge thank you to all the parents and caregivers who have enrolled your young people into my classes — you are nurturing imagination, confidence, problem solving and self-expression in ways that will stay with them for life. ✨

Tonight the Tuesday Ladies took things to a whole new level… turning up in pajamas and absolutely loaded down with snacks like they were preparing for a creative sleepover 🤣

💯The banter was outrageous as always, the laughter was loud, and somehow between all the snacking, storytelling and nonsense — they made incredible progress on their pieces too! ✨️

💜 Truely though, this is exactly why I do this.
Watching women feel comfortable enough to fully relax, be themselves, create without pressure, and just enjoy being in the space… that’s the magic part for me.

Art feeds the soul.

But so does connection, laughter, and cheeseboards in pyjamas. 🥰

Today’s Young Creators class was… absolute chaos in the very best way 😅🎨

💯🔋The energy levels were OFF the charts. Volume set to maximum, laughter slightly unhinged, and some truly outrageous oversharing happening across the art tables. 😂

😵‍💫🍷 I might be just about ready for a stiff drink and questioning my life choices but in all honestly? I loved every second of it. 🥰

🤩 These kids are pure joy. Wild creativity, big personalities, messy hands and even messier stories.

I may have been slightly over-ambitious with this paper mache project — turns out it’s definitely a “more than one session” kind of creation 🤣 But that’s the beauty of it really… I’m learning right alongside them.💜

Kids.
Keeping it real.
Making it magic. ✨
