* U P D A T E 💔 *

I have loved ittykins and all the joy that it has brought to my life and the lives of so many other folk; big and small. Creating toys to encourage play and bring delight to children really has to be one of the biggest privileges I've had and I will always look back fondly on the ittykins years.

Unfortunately on the most practical level, ittykins became unsustainable in our family as our school age children were both unable to attend school for an extended period. We now have a child settled and thriving in a new school but health reasons mean we still have a child unable to attend. It's not possible to work consistently with big needs in our home and for that reason ittykins has been put to the side. It has been increasingly clear that I need to make a decision about the business and, as hard as it is for my heart, the decision is that ittykins will be finishing up.

I have ittyCases available for view and purchase at half price for .whanganui over the next week at Studio 51. While this event is happening I have paused the ittykins website. Once I have taken stock of what remains, I will update the website with the remaining pieces at 50% off. If you're in Whanganui, come visit in person, if not keep an eye out and I'll announce when the website is live again.

I have a tiny sliver of hope that one day ittykins will come back to life and all the hopes and plans of growing it will still happen but for now it's better these handcrafted treasures are doing their job of spreading joy instead of being shut away in cupboards.

** B I G N E W S **

After selling over 6500 of these tiny tins in their various forms and donating a whole lot to good causes too, I've made my final one. It's the end of an era but it's time to sharpen my focus on what I want to spend my time creating. You've loved these so much; they've flown all around the world, they've comforted children facing challenges and transitions, they've brought smiles to faces when lockdowns kept loved ones apart. They've been under Christmas trees and in stockings, they've been given to people of all ages and stages. It's bittersweet but the magic will hopefully continue with all the treasures already out in the world 🥰

All the stock I have is already put together in colours and styles so customisation will be limited. There are the new kittytins already up on the website, I finally listed the last Christmas tins (geez Selina, bit late in the game!) and there are birthday specific tins awaiting photographing and listing too. Once they're gone, they're gone.

I noticed an increase in ittykins pieces heading out the door in the last few weeks and happily didn't think much of it. Then I was walking around a supermarket recently and wondering why they still had clearance Christmas stock in store from last year... I realized that somehow the year has flashed by and it's Christmas in a month?! I finally put the dots together, vlearly my brain has been focused elsewhere 🙃

ittyCases and ittyFriends are still there waiting to be under Christmas trees in time for the big day, you know where to find them 🤍

Just one more week left to get a tiny Easter cutie in time for Easter weekend 🐇🐰

A handful of Easter cuteness - bunny ittyFriends are a lovely keepsake to play with after all the chocolate has been eaten.

This tiny tin bed contains a wee little mattress, a handknitted woolen blanket and an itty-bitty bunny. They're small enough to be hidden in a pocket, in a school bag or under a pillow as a little constant friend and toy 🥰

Sorry Australian friends, it's too late for them to reach you before Easter 💔

How do you celebrate? We are big on Easter egg hunts in this house and as the children get older, they're getting more and more elaborate 😅 We love chocolate like the best of them but like to sprinkle in some non-food treats too!

This year as well as our snuggly bunny ittyFriends, there are three sizes of bunnies in eggs in the collection 🐇🐣

** S N E A K Y S A L E **

I had every intention of being consistent on social media for the last several weeks but life in all it's dramatic glory has got in the way. It has been a tough gig getting our little family through the last few weeks 🥴 Suddenly the NZPOST cut off date for guaranteed shipping is on Monday and I've belly flopped on the marketing side of life 😬

So to compensate for my failings to get ittykins out there and seen on socials, I thought I'd offer my second ever sale in the hopes that more of my work is in the hands of little ones rather than on a shelf this Christmas. (Also a comment, save, like or share would go a long way in helping get these out to kiddos too!)

SUMMER10 will give you 10% off all orders over $40 this weekend and Christmas items are marked down too. All orders over the weekend will be sent out on Monday in time for the NZPOST final cut off date and to be under trees for the big day 🥰

I had such a fab time at the on Saturday - the first time I've been brave enough to do a market in our new home town 😅 It's always a pleasure hanging with other makers too - I'm looking at you The Little Shop 🥰

Next weekend I'm going to be doing another Whanganui market - the River City Christmas Market - and it's outdoors so fingers crossed the weather is kind 🤞🏻

Is this the end?

I have finished listing the last ittyCases I have. There are no more empty suitcases waiting to be filled, and I'm not sure if I'll be getting more or not. I'm not going to lie, I shed a tear lining the last case wondering if I'll ever do it again.

It's no secret that this year has been incredibly difficult for our family with some big health challenges for one of our children amongst other tough things. We don't know what 2024 will look like for ittykins while we focus on our family's wellbeing above all else. It will unfold as we go.

For now, there's a bunch of stock on the website; ittyCases, ittyFriends, Christmas pieces and decor sets.Thank you for your support of this little business, every single time joy is expressed at my work (be it likes, happy faces in real life, comments or purchases) it brings me joy and helps our family so very much too. 🤍

Tomorrow is the last day that NZPost guarantee packages will reach Australia before Christmas using economy shipping. I'll add an additional shipping option for Australian orders with the International Courier prices for Christmas delivery but unfortunately it is significantly more expensive 😬

So, if you're in Australia and have been waiting to make your order, now's the time so I can get them out the door and on their way tomorrow, then under Christmas trees for the big day 🤍

I'd hoped to have the last of the last ittyCases ready to be listed tonight but countless things have got in the way of progress so instead I'll list what I have finished on Sunday night at 8pm.
