Just a heads up. Brooksbooks at 85 Glasgow St, Whanganui, will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd. So if you need a book for the weekend, it would pay to drop in today, Friday. We'll be open until 4pm.

Places to read a good book: at the sprucing up of a fine old church, the oldest, in fact, in Whanganui. Dragged up that hill in Gonville by Clydesdales, when a lorry couldn't cope.
