Julie Cromwell’s works has developed from her research into the historical linage of clay and ceramics. The transmutation of clay itself captivates the artist: the material moving through states from mud to clay, to form, through fire then into permanence. The work carries marks from the hands of the creator, while being exposed to carbon firing techniques and the rudimental pit. New amphoare forms available now.

Born in Belgium and now based in the Wairarapa, Joke Gossey of Yorka has spent more than two decades immersed in the landscape and creative community of Aotearoa.

Working across clay, silver, and paper, her practice is driven by an intuitive approach to making. Drawn to organic and abstract forms, she allows each piece to evolve through touch, repetition, and response, embracing both intention and chance in the creative process. Rather than imposing a predetermined outcome, she works collaboratively with her chosen materials, allowing form, texture, and character to emerge naturally.

Her work celebrates irregularity, transformation, and the subtle language of materials. The resulting pieces are tactile, organic, and abstract, creating a dialogue between nature, process, and the unexpected.

Through her practice, she invites viewers to pause, engage with the materiality of each piece, and reflect on the often-overlooked connections between the natural world, creative process, and the forces that shape both.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to local Northland coffee growers - Ikarus Coffee Roasters NZ.

What began with five coffee trees planted on the rolling hills of Pekerau in 1998 grew into a vision unlike anything else in New Zealand. Originally part of a family farm transformed into subtropical gardens, the trees were forgotten until Rob's passion for coffee roasting reignited their potential in 2009. Inspired by years of experimentation, perseverance, and guidance from experienced growers, Rob set out to achieve what had never been done before: grow coffee commercially in New Zealand.

After decades of dedication, the first Pekerau Hills Arabica Laurina coffee was released in 2022. Today, Rob and Marie continue to develop the plantation, exploring innovative growing and processing techniques while refining their craft. Every season brings new lessons, and every cup reflects their commitment to sharing a truly unique New Zealand coffee story.
