For almost 8 years we have had the pleasure and privilege of serving customers at Paperplus Whangarei. It has been quite a journey for owner Barry William Wienand, Vivian Lee Wienand and the staff. We have had some amazingly good times with our beloved customers, peculiar challenging times, like Covid19 and Cyclone Gabriel, but for the better part, we are going to miss our special people that have come in to visit and support us, have a chat, a laugh and perhaps some tears sharing our life stories and joys.
As a wife, I am extremely proud of how Barry has come into this environment with absolutely no retail experience. If you have ever dealt with Barry you will know he will give every single person that comes his way the respect they deserve and sort your problem, query or request with much love. He's built the business to one that many loves visiting because they feel like family. OFFCOURSE we could not at all have even tried to make it a success without incredible staff, some that has been with us to the very end, and we will FOREVER have such grateful hearts for you girls🩷
We want to congratulate the lovely new owners, Kapil and Monica Dua, locals and loved by many as well, and we pray a huge continued 🙌BLESSING on your business and your walk at Paperplus💚. We ask humbly that you please continue to support these hardworking people bringing you retail, Postal, and lotto services in future.

Who saved the Waipoua Kauri Forest of Northland, New Zealand? Why has nothing of any substance been written about the campaign to protect the forest? Was this New Zealand’s first significant conservation campaign? In 1952, 9000 hectares of forest was proclaimed a Forest Sanctuary after 25 years of campaigning. Peter Thomas, a retired Classics and History teacher, decided to see what role his father, lawyer and horticulturist Norman Russell Withiel Thomas (NRW) played in the campaign. This account does not pretend to be ‘the’ history of the campaign, but rather an account of the role that NRW and others played in the struggle to save the forest.
