Just thought I'd reintroduce myself since it's been quite some time ...

Hi, I’m Tracy

I’m a mum to young adults, a widow of 16 years, and now finding my feet in the very strange new world of being a first-time empty nester!

For almost 30 years, I’ve worked in Early Childhood Education, so creativity, imagination and seeing a little bit of magic in the everyday have always been a big part of who I am.

But creativity has meant much more to me than simply having a hobby.

When I became a widow, life changed in ways I could never have imagined. There were some incredibly difficult and painful days, and through those years, my children and my creativity became two of the things that kept me moving forward.

My children gave me a reason to keep looking for the good things. I wanted their childhood to still feel safe, happy and, whenever I could manage it, a little bit magical, even when life behind the scenes didn't always feel that way.

So I made things.

I created traditions and celebrations. I decorated. I scrapbooked our memories. I gardened. I renovated. I crafted with the kids. I turned ordinary things into something special and found joy in creating little moments for us to look forward to.

And somewhere along the way, I realised that making things was helping to put me back together too.

Perhaps that's why I've never been able to stick to just one craft!

I’m what I affectionately call a dabbler in ALL the crafts. Give me paper, fabric, paint, timber, a sewing machine, something old that needs rescuing or a random treasure from an op shop and chances are I'll have an idea for it!

Over the years I've scrapbooked, made journals, sewn, painted, created children's resources, upcycled furniture and experimented with more crafts than I could possibly list.

When I'm not making something, you'll usually find me in the garden, tackling a DIY project or renovation, rearranging something that probably didn't need rearranging, hunting through second-hand treasures, or volunteering as a Scout Leader.

Now my children are young adults and I'm entering another very different chapter of life.

Follow along to see my journey

Something new is coming…

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve done much with this page!
Some of you have been here right back from my scrapbooking shop days — the classes, the mountains of paper, ribbons and embellishments and, of course, buying craft supplies that we definitely needed!
Even though the shop disappeared a long time ago, for me the crafting certainly didn't.
I've just moved on to about a million other things!
Over the years I've scrapbooked, sewn, painted, made Christmas decorations, created resources for work, played around with furniture makeovers, collected far too many op-shop and inherited treasures and tackled all sorts of random DIY projects.
Basically, if I see something and think “I could make something out of that…”, and it's free, there's a pretty good chance it's coming home with me.
Lately I've been getting that itch to do something creative again, something a little different and a bit more me.
So I've been quietly making, collecting and playing around with ideas behind the scenes… and I've decided it's finally time to do something with them.
Rather than starting a completely new page, I thought I'd bring this one along for the ride.
After all, this is where a big part of my creative journey started.
I have absolutely no idea where this little adventure might lead, but I'm pretty excited to find out.
I'll share more soon, watch this space…

My poor baby girl :(
Today we were cleaning out the garage and the kids were wandering around "helping" our driveway is short but steep, and Abbey managed to get out of the garage and tumbled down the drive! I saw it happen in slow motion and there was blood and I cried! She is fine, a little grazed but none worse for wear. But here are the pics of my poor precious with her banged up face

Halloween is Keeping me busy!!!
I spent half the night and all morning making these goody packages to take home after the party! VERY cute I scraplifted the idea of Debby from Fiskateers!! Thanks Debby! Nic had sent me the instuctions to make these little caddies ages ago and I've wanted to make them for a while! Glad I finally got round to doing them because they were WAY easier than I ever expected! I might have to make a couple of full sized ones for my pencils etc as these ones are quarter the original size!! Now I just need to fill them with sweet goodness and they will be all ready!!

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!
