A Heartfelt Thank You from the Tawapou Conservation Trust and Family

Last Saturday marked a deeply significant milestone for our family, friends, and the wider community.

Our day began in the quiet of dawn with a moving ceremony to bless the new Ōī bird sculpture. Fuelled by a hearty breakfast, our incredible team of volunteers then took to the hills. Thanks to your monumental effort and hard work, we successfully put just over 6,000 plants into the ground. This area represents one of the most ecologically vital stretches along our coastline, and your hard work ensures its future.

We want to extend our warmest ngā mihi nui to:

The Planting Crew: For your sweat, energy, and unwavering dedication to the land.

The Ringawera (Kitchen Team): For providing the absolutely delicious hāngī lunch and sweet treats that sustained us.

Kennedy Warne: For gifting us a beautiful, inspiring talk that perfectly connected the spirit of the day to the land we stand on.

It was a stunning day spent alongside family and friends, weaving people and conservation together.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa — thank you all so very much.
