A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Guthrie Bowron Whitianga's recent 'Capture & Win" Photo Competition winners. We were overwhelmed with the number of entrants and the quality and range of photos submitted. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter. We could not choose just 1 winning photo, so the team decided to have joint winners, their photos are below. The first photo was entered by Lynn Clayton "Mother Brown's Creek, Whitianga" and the second photo was entered by Robbie Shaw "Hahei - looking out to Mahurangi Island". Their wallpaper murals are currently being printed, and we will also be displaying one of each in our showroom. Thanks again to everyone who entered. The team at Guthrie Bowron Whitianga

A huge thank you to Guthrie Bowron Whitianga for proudly supporting our Mercury Bay Netball umpires 💙🏐

As a locally owned business, Guthrie Bowron understands how important grassroots sport is to our community- and how much volunteers, coaches, and umpires contribute behind the scenes to keep it all running.

Their sponsorship of new umpire uniforms has made a real difference this season, especially for our junior umpires. Having a professional uniform doesn’t just look great on court. It helps build confidence, pride, and a sense of belonging in what can be a very challenging role.

Over the past four years, our umpiring group has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of Umpire Coordinator Olivia McGregor, who has worked tirelessly to mentor and support both youth and adult umpires throughout the season.

Thanks to strong local support, structured coaching, and ongoing encouragement, we’re seeing more young people step into leadership roles, gain confidence making decisions under pressure, and achieve formal umpiring qualifications.

This year alone, Mercury Bay Netball celebrated:
👏 Two Senior C Badge umpires
👏 Three Junior umpires gaining formal qualifications

An incredible achievement for our small community.

Umpiring takes resilience, confidence, and commitment, and we’re so proud of the supportive culture being built around our officials.

Thank you again to Guthrie Bowron Whitianga for investing back into local sport and helping support the future of netball in Mercury Bay 💙

Read more about our partnership here, and if you'd like to support us, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you!
