new fashion venture with “by Amal Al Raisi”.

It’s been 8 magnificent years since I started working in the fashion industry – under
the name of Dar Al Aseel, I first started designing traditional Omani dresses and
went on to abayas and jallabiya. I have a lot of success stories to tell and can count a
number of failures as all part of my history and brand today. My RTW collection has a touch of couture and is a tribute to women that are femin

but not delicate. I admire today’s power woman who prioritises family but also
pursue’s their career dreams. “by Amal Al Raisi” is designed to honor Arab traditions
but my goal is for the pieces to be worn far beyond the boarders of Oman. It is here
that the collection is produced and overseen by myself to ensure the highest quality and
an impeccable finish. For the SS16 collection, I found my inspiration to be the floral universe. Flowers
are beautiful yet powerful and have always been a main source of inspiration to me. The colours that can be seen through the collection are old rose, soft grey and delicate
white’s. It is the cuts and custom made fabrics that are equally soft and feminine that
compliments the powerful woman wearing it. The embroidery is all done by hand
which is a signature I’m taking with me from my traditional designs to add a touch of
Arab luxury to my RTW collection.
